THE CURSE CONTINUES

Some of you may have read my thread “WHAT IS MORALLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?” others may know my inability to keep a RG. Well this goes beyond explanation.  I leave my house on Friday afternoon for about 10 minutes. All is well when I leave. When I return home what do I find on the floor right in front of my DT?  It’s the RG, dead. I knew in my heart I should have not taken this fish. Now things get even harder to explain. This morning when the tank lights come on, I do a quick check. Ummm where is the smaller of my hippo tangs. He is nowhere to be found. I look around the tank, in the overflows no tang. I am aware of their ability to wedge themselves into the rockwork but this is no small fish. This is my day for maintenance so I take the time to move something’s around. No tang it has just disappeared.  While my CUC is efficient I don’t think they could have completely consumed the hippo in such a short time frame.  Have I forever angered the  fish gods by taking yet another RG and placing it into my DT?

That's so sad...I'm sorry for your loss. If there is any life in the tang it will wiggle and move flat from rock to rock...That's why you must remove each rock not just move it. Getting a Hippo out of tank is miserable, I have done it few times.

I just got a hippo out of a tank full of rock.  I managed to get it out within 20 minutes and only having to move 3 rocks.  I was amazed that that's all it took.

Sorry for your luck with the RG, Joe.

Hey Joe

Sorry about the RG...

I've had a couple of fish disappear on me before, it's almost as if my tank is cursed too.
