Red macroalgae give away

It's getting close to time for me to harvest the macros in my Seahorse tank, in a few weeks it has doubled in size...does anyone want some red macro algae? I hate to toss it out. You will have to crazy glue one edge to get it to stay put until it seeds the tank. It starts out like crusty red dots and then blooms out like a rose petal.

Anyone interested.... pay me back for shipping and the $5.00 worth of warmer pads.

Here is a picture of what the macros look like.

It just looks pink in the photo..It's very bright red.

I'm going to wait another week to get some more growth ... PM me your address and right name. I need to get the heat packs before I even start. My turtle grass looking caulerpa is getting pretty thick...do you want some of that too if I harvest it?

No, if it isn't green it isn't food to them. The only algae eaters I have are the Lawnmower blenny and the Lemonpeel angelfish....tangs might eat it, but I don't have tangs. My macro book says angels eat the red lettuce but I think they mean the larger angels, not the dwarfs...not mine anyway. The only thing I had that ate red macro was the sea hare. It ate the red turf algae, and left the hair algae in the 30g. I read later that baby sea hares prefer the red. My sea hare was only about 3 inches, so I think it was just too young to be any use to me for GHA. (I believe that anyway, I have been wrong before when I made such observations)

BTLDreef...LOL...you had to know that macros must be harvested and in time I would have some for you. Did you get this kind in your sampler? A little is all it takes to seed the entire tank, I think that's what the dots are on the larger "petals" The smaller ones are smooth. Pm me if you want a little of this stuff to go with what you have.

So it got to you safe and sound...I do see a little orange, so it had a hard time. I take it that's a picture of your refugium.

When I pulled the macro out I was surprised...it felt like plastic. It is very pretty red, I'm glad you like it.
