Saltwater Blue Crab

Thread Starter

So a buddy of mine is setting up a Aggressive Tank. 280gal.

Wanting to put a Lion Fish, Eel etc....  he wants to know if he can put in a Native South Carolina blue crab. He likes the color they put off, and was wondering if he can put the crab (size 4"'s or so).. in the bottom of his tank?

Any idea's . Yes / No

Well seeing as the blue crab is very aggressive I personally wouldn't risk putting him in. An eel would hide in the rocks around where the crab would be and that could turn into an expensive snack for a free crab.

Blue crabs are piscivorous, so they'll eat whatever fish they can catch.  If the lion is small enuff, it will become crab food, if the lion is large enuff, the crab will become lion food.
