29 Gallon Reef Build

Hey there everyone,

I just started my 29 gallon reef, and so far I'm very excited.

 

Here's what I've done so far...

*Painted back glass black

*Built DIY overflow & refugium

*Added Hydor Koralia powerhead

*Added about 23 lbs. of live rock, along with live sand (got a great deal on the LR, only $4.99/lb!)

*Added 26 hermit crabs

As for stocking plans, I really don't know.  However, I know I want a Midas Blenny.  So, if anyone could point me in the direction of good tank-mates that would be great.  Also, I am going to be running metal halides soon!

 Looks good.

26! hermits is an awful lot for a new tank.

 

Midas blennies are awesome, but can be aggressive towards some fish (like firefish for example).  What other fish do you like the looks of?

i bet you change your rock at least 10 times before your somewhat satisfied... LOL.... just know that its a normal part of this addition! bigg.gif

Not sure, but I like Purple Firefish :(

I'm sure I will haha, I like the left side, but the right side is kind of blahh for me.
