Kaudern's/Banghai cardinal question

Do these need to be kept in groups or kept singularly, I'm hearing different things, wondering if anyone has some input or owns them?  Thanks.

They can be kept single or as a male/female pair.  Sometimes a group of all females can be kept but it's not a sure thing.  Multiple males cannot be kept together.

 

Juveniles will shoal but they mature quickly.

 

I recommend a male/female pair.
