Possible clown issue "disease, parasite"

yeah quills I have heard these things before as well...I have also heard they are no longer associated with ***** as well so who knows lol...

I do know I have 12 fish from live aquaria anywhere from 3 months to 2 years now that are all just fine if that says anything...not counting my clown yet of course :)

so far so good no new marks on him from last night yet so just have to keep an eye on him...thanks again everyone

LA is owned by ***** but separate businesses. I don't think their sources have changed, they source their fish from the same places as a lot of other vendors.

the real issue IMO is that stores like ***** have interconnecting tanks. They can not treat their fish by running copper which many if no all LFS do. Two may losses of animals that can not tolerate copper

Yep the last time I went to my nearest ***** there were several different fish with issues...I just can't understand how someone picks a fish from that same tank to bring home :eek:

This fish is most certainly experiencing aggression. Hopefully your 5 gal is well cycled. Keep him in isolation and hopefully he'll heal up. You'll have to decide between him or the aggressor.

I don't think ***** buying out Doctors F & S had anything to due with poor livestock. As mentioned everything still comes primarily from the same major wholesalers as before. They just own the brand now.

But when you buy from Live A it's a good idea to quarantine. From what I understand Divers Den is a completely different facility and they still quarantine and treat fish before they are sold from there.

But yeah, I've never been in a actual ***** location where I didn't see diseased fish. Won't buy from their stores.

My 5 gal is tank water from the DT and also a couple few lbs of LR from the DT so it should be pretty good...

As far as choosing between one or the other because of aggression...wouldn't you expect that to severely cut back when added to the much bigger DT and 15 other tank mates?

You have to look at it two ways. Some fish are just aggressive. Some are territorially But they cannot put up a no trespassing sigh up. It’s just something we have to deal with and stock wisely

If i was guessing yes. Your adding 85 for gallons. Flames are not the nicest to begin with, so adding it in a small qt isnt ideal. Once in your 90 i would think it should be fine

yes joe...the flame is a pretty aggressive dwarf and the maroon is a pretty aggressive clown...this is why out of all my stock I am adding these 2 fish last and at the same time because I had thought of this about 2 years ago when I started my fish list :)

imo I think they would be fine as well...I guess only time will tell lol

ok so the spot on his side still looks exactly as it did a week ago or so...hes still gobbling up food like a maniac, and actually has gotten more of an appetite in the past couple weeks so that's a pretty good sign of disease free I would say...my question now is how long should I be waiting you think until I put him in the DT? im really wanting to put them in the DT tmrw because I hate having fish in QT conditions for any longer then they need to be for the fact that my DT conditions are of course much better and the environment is more comfortable...

so your saying from the day I noticed the marking I should treat it as I would my normal QT routine? I usually wait 2 weeks as long as I see no problems...or are you saying because I noticed something that you would increase it to 30 days?
