I have a Nikon Coolpix 4500. I can't figure out what to set it at to get good pictures of my tank. I tried the Micro setting but that doesn't seem to work well. Any help would be apperciated.

Are you playing around with the manual settings?
A tripod is a very helpful accessory when shooting without flash and this might help to fix some of your problems. You can also set your ISO
setting to 400 or 800 to help out with lower lighting pics.
Make sure that if you are using flash.........turn off the red-eye mode.
Let us know what you are getting stuck on.

I can not get close ups. Yesterday I tried to take a pic of a baby snail about 1/16th of an inch in size. I could not get a close up at all. I do not know a lot about photography and I do not know what to set it at. i.e. speed, size or anything. What should I set it at for the best pics. Should I use it without the flash?
