2) it is illegal in california.

And although I don't don't the specifics I have read that it is illeagal in Cali.
And is also known to cause cancer in the state of california.

looks like that's all that is needed to know about caleurpa.
except, it will go se xual and drop its leaves and put back all the nutrients it had taken out... not worth it to use as a macro algae IMO>

not a good thing when it goes se xual will tear up a tank in no time.

You know, I've heard that, but I know ALOT of people down here who use it without any problems. Or any safeguards to avoid that from happening.

regular pruning will keep it in check and watching for any grapes to start turning white. BTW the grape is the macro algae that I have go se xual

Hmm, the guy I'm thinking about imparticular, (he took my larger fish after the evil day) has a whole fuge filled with the stuff, but he pretty much daily grabs a handful and tosses into his display for the tangs and my emperator.

thats how he is keeping it in check it has to basically recover and puts all its energy into growth everytime he does that.
