we are purchasing a nem for the first time. How do I acclaimate this guy so I don’t end up causing him issues?

If you don't have a well established tank and high intensity (usually means very high end) forget the nem. It will die.

We didn’t get it anyways the staff damaged it during purchase so we didn’t get it.
