I paid 40 - couple days ago it was fully open, you know when I took all the rocks out to catch the fish maybe some sand got on it, the sand is that argonite (I hope I spelt that right) Should I lift it up and shosh it around in the water a bit?
I new you were going to ask about the sand - it is coraline algae i think it is not cyano.

AL...have you tried siphoning the sand? it really should not look like that :(
and it is aragonite

do you see any sand on it? be careful...IMO they are touchy.......

The one coral I can not keep alive in any tank, EVER.
Most people don't have luck with them, apparently from what I've read/been told by people who have success with them, they like tanks to be a little "dirty" and unless they're Aussie Elegance's they just cr@p out for some reason.

Do you think it is detrimental to the tank

I just poked around in it a bit - there is a bit of hair algae as well, I am doing a water change tomorrow - I will try to siphon it - what does it do to the tank

Thanks meowzer , what would us newbies do without you, do I need to move a PH - I think this all started after I added more rock. Do you like aronite sand - I could change it when I do my upgrade.

What kind of flow is it getting Al? To high is no good. Did any sand get on it when you were catching the fish? If so it may just come back on it's own. What are your nitrate levels like?
Edit: sorry u guys posted before me I just saw your nitrate levels above.

I have aragonite.....nothing wrong with it.....you have to look at your flow....is it getting everywhere? I have 6 powerheads and 2 flow bars...and I still am not sure about flow all of the time....it's like a game....just keep re-positioning it until you see it looks right.....sometimes you may have to add another one to get to a hard area....

Thanks - I think it is a low flow area - I am going to try to move one of the PH. The problem I have is my behind take fuge I can only put PH on the outer edges. Thanks for your repies.

Bummer.
It almost looks like crud not cyano, it doesn't look as "blankety". I would toss in the nassarius snails! I heart them!

Today the elegance looks terrible - I am thinking of taling it out. What do you guys think?
I wouldn't take it out until you were sure it was dead....it's not gonna hurt anything
I can't spell tonight again - that's what I wanted to hear meowzer

SWF has the little bear conch....I LOVE THEM....not only do they mess in the sand...they climp up the walls of the tank and on the rocks too
I buy nass snails almost every time I order.....they get lost in my big tank....ALSO the fancy nassarius are EXCELLENT....I have a few of them too....at night they climb the walls and look so neat

It looks hungry to me, what are you feeding it? I have an aussie elegance, if I dont feed it every other day it doesnt look good.
