Experience with Seachem purigen

Hey guys
So my Seachem purigen is still sitting in its bag in the sump and after 8 months it's still basically white. The only colour change is the bag has some coralline growing on it. I think it maybe still working as between it and my refugium my nitrates are 5-10ppm at most, 0-5 after a water change.

My question is anyone else have this happen? Shouldn't it be turning brown? How long does yours last?

Doesn't sound like it's removing much if it's still white after all this time.

I've never used it as I've always heard mixed results. But even running carbon I have to be careful since I notice a significant drop in skimmer production whenever I do.

By this point I suspect your purigen is probably coated with bacteria and not really doing what it was designed to do.
