Favia Brain Corals, Favia sp., are a subgroup of LPS corals with common names of Moon Corals, Pineapple Coral, Brain Coral, Star Coral, or Closed Brain Coral. Favia Brains are often domed with yellows, greens, browns, and sometimes reds and blues.

They are one of, if not the most, abundant coral types found in the world. They area a hardy coral that can be fed meaty foods, should be kept at a lower placement, moderate water flow, and moderate to bright light. This coral is semi-aggressive and should have some space between it and its neighbors.

The Favia Brain is one of the most accessible and easy to care for LPS corals in the aquarium trade making it an ideal candidate for a beginner aquarist.
