I would PM PerfectDark and ask him to post here. Common names can be misleading but I'm guessing what you're inquiring about is the the same (or close) to the photosynthetic gorgonian that he has.

Yep from what I was told and from what I assesed with pictures and research I have a Muriceopsis flavida, AKA Purple Brush Gorgonian.
