We've had our yellow tang for a little over a month and just tonight I noticed some discoloration. I've read that some of this may be normal but all the pics I see doesn't look like what I'm dealing with. All my water levels are fine with the exception of nitrite... I've been trying to get those levels down but they seem to be holding mid range. Does anyone know what may be going on with the little guy? Im trying to post a pic, but I'm not sure it will let me through my phone.

If you have nitrite(vs. nitrate) your tank may not be properly cycled. As Onefish said we need specific parameter levels to help you figure this out.
It is not unusual for yellow tangs to change color when stressed. Sometimes they get dark or sometimes pale, sometimes te

Mine is always pretty white in the morning until lights come on and everybody comes out for breakfast.

But they will also do that when stressed. Could be poor water quality and or may not be eating right. Possible aggression from tank mates.
