Hydra 52HD vs Radion Gen 2

Hey all,

I'm having a bit of lighting dilemma. I was originally going good to go with the new Hydra 52 HD. however, now have a line on a used Radion Gen 2 for a bit less than the Hydra.

My tank is 36x36x24deep. Mostly LPS with a few beginner SPS and two RBTA's.

Just looking for some opinions to help choose. I'm not sure how either one works, how easy to program (I'm not very techy) and the light intensity itself. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

For me it would depend on how much cheaper you can get the gen 2's. If it's just slightly cheaper I'd say no. It's 4 year old technology that has already been left behind and not a lot of people were crazy with the color of the gen 2 stuff.

But if it's A LOT cheaper then it may be worth picking them up as a starter light set.

Ahh ok good to know thanks. It's only about $100 less. I thought the two were right on par for lighting. I'll keep with the Hydra's.
