Halimeda and brush should be fine with the tangs, don't know about the blade. What type of macro-algae is it specifically?

Putting macroalgaes in can help, just be careful what you buy. Some macroalgaes have the potential to go sexual and cause worse problems than nitrates in your tank. Caulerpa of any sort is the best known for this ~ which is why I asked what the blade is.

Gotcha
. Not familar with the blade plant, but you should be ok with these, none are Caulerpa.
Carbon, filter floss, and lots of water changes. Lost only one fish and none of the corals. I got real lucky.
I like the green also, just learned to be very careful. Actually trying a red macroalgae right now, so far so good, and its kind of cool looking.

I guess the Halimeda is toxic/poison to fish. I fead my fish to make sure the tangs did not eat the plant ,but this morning the Halimeda was 1/2 eaten and my hawiian blue tang was dead.
Had white all on its belly. I did not expect that, my other tangs are fine and dont touch it. NOT a good wake up call.
