Mine looks like the yellow one in the middle picture. Also, mine is now opened up like yours. I think i will leave hime where he is.
Gotcha. That's not a bad idea, leaving it where it is currently. Anytime I move mine though, they usually take an hour or so before they open back up, but the purple goni I have is by far the most sensitive, and it drives me nuts.

That's pretty much the way I am with my coral as well. Just add calcium, strontium, iodine then supplement feeding with Fuel & Marine Snow. With your goni, the only thing that should alarm you is tissue necrosis. Basically where the "skin" is starting to peel off the base!
What is the cause if this and does it heal? Mine looks healty, but from time to time it appears to have a ballon look when the tenticals are with drawn.

I know what you are talking about, and it actually happens to mine only when my yellow head goby knocks it off, but it's probably just a sign of stress or something, but tissue necrosis is totally different. If you flip your goni over & look at how it's attached to the rock you will see that it looks like it has skin that is covering the rock. This is where tissue necrosis usually starts and it will appear that it's either peeling off the rock, or just looks like it's been chewed up, but what you are experiencing is NOT tissue necrosis, unless of course it appears that the skin is dying or peeling away. The bubble looking thing is not tissue necrosis!

Your goni should be HUGE eating like that! LOL I just supplement calcium, iodine, strontium etc. and add Fuel & Marine snow alternately!

It was doing great but I had to give it away before I moved and it died a few weeks later
