Question for Ryebread

What do you think about the Sony DSCP9? It is listed as the Sony 4.0 Megapixel Digital Camera with 3x Optical/2x Digital Zoom. I like it because it is metal construction and really small (nice for a pocket). I just don't know if the camera is worth the price...

I am not a big fan of the Sony cameras.
I don't have any experience with that particular camera to give you an opinion on it but, I can say that normally there is a better equivilent from a "real" camera company out there.
Bad experience with many ( and I mean many) Sony cameras in the past. Sorry to be biased.

So what is the best deal for $350 to $500 range?

I would either look at the Minlota Dimage F100 or the Konica KD400z.
Both of these are excellent cameras and very small. Both are metal construction as well.
