Red Grouper

Hi

I got this fish from my local pet store. I was told it is a red grouper, but I did some research online about him but could not find much on these fish, especially one this size.
So I am not sure if it is a red grouper. Can anyone identify this guy as a red grouper or any other type of fish?

Unless you have a 200+ gal tank, best to return him to the fish store. Not really a good choice for most beginners.

Agreed, that boy will get big

Not only do they get big, but they can expand their mouth to engulf anything up to the diameter of their body.
