My gold barbs had a baby!! (well, in reality there were probably hundreds of eggs/babies but THIS one made it!) I've named him Agent Morgan (anybody else watch Criminal Minds? You keep thinking they've blown him up, but no, he's still alive!)
These first pics are from 2 weeks ago, I was waiting to see if he'd actually make it but so far so good, the colour is a bright gold yellow now, almost the same as the parents and at least 2-3x bigger than in the 1st pics. I have them in a 55g heavily planted mixed peaceful community tank - he lives in a giant mass of java moss which I'm sure they spawned in....pretty cute!

And 2 of the possible parents (There are 6)

And of course Delilah checking it all out

Pics from tonight

some proud parents

yeah, well, there are a lot of hungry mouths just waiting for you when you're that small, even the neons could make lunch out of them just a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't eat from the top like the rest yet - he dives into his java moss jungle when they go into their feeding frenzy, his parents are BIG and not above snacking on junior. I drop pellets in there for him (which dissolve into powdermush) :)

You know you aren't going to get away until you post a FTS!!

I have tried!! it never looks as good as the SW FTS, I think it's the lighting. It's a nice tank to see in person tho. I'll try again tho :)

It is different lighting. However, your lighting on the shot of the "parants" was great. Try using those same setting when you take a fts.

well, it's a cruddy pic but you get the point. (Don't mind the tinfoil on the lid - it an attempt to keep the cat off)
:)
The big ones in the corner are the gold barbs - in a 55...and they say you can keep them in a 10g, ha!!
