Getting a new computer; what's a good video card to go with?
Want it to be quick, run games, but don't need the fancy editing stuff. Any suggestions?

Thrifty/decent route would be NVIDIA and at least 256 if you are getting pre-installed thats all you need to know..If you are buying and installing, you need to know if you have AGP or PCI/PCI Express

Buddy is putting together comp for me. AGP slot.
Thanks for info. I've got an older (4 years or so) ATI 256 that seems slow so maybe I'll bump it up.

Geoforce, Nvidia, and ATI are great! Like said above try and get at least 256mb of video ram. Most of these cards will come with a DVI output. It's awesome if your monitor will support it.

if you have an AGP slot go with the 6800GT from Nvidia its a great agp card. If you have a PCIE slot go with the NVIDIA 7800gtx. I would try and stay away from any ATI cards, I never liked them.
