I finally got my first acan. I don't know what kind it is but I think it's great. The big heads are about the size of a fifty cent piece; is this normal for them to be this big? There are about eight or nine baby heads underneath that you can't see in the pic. I'm so excited

Acanthestra Lordhowensis, that's probably spelled wrong but they look great, very healthy.

Why are the heads so large and inflated? All the ones I see are a lot smaller.

Also, does it matter if the fleshy heads are touching the rock or is the sand bed a better place for them? And do the feeder tentacles stay out all the time, I just fed them and they're still out.

Mine stays puffy also. I was told that means they're happy!!

Good to know. The guy I got it from fed it daily so maybe that's why it was so big. I only feed two to three times a week and it's not quite inflated anymore but still got good size to it.
