My new 29 tank has been gathering bubbles all over the place. theyre under the algae and are everywhere... mostly on the sand and rock. anyone have an idea?

I caught it and I dont know what it is.... It died earlier today from crawling out of the container... I just now, as I was typing this just spotted another! These are the things I started this thread for! They are snail like on the bottom but not on top. they have segmented shells NE IDEAS?

As far as the sand goes, It HAS to be replaced. If I get any flow over it, It blows all over and clouds my tank up and makes my corals mad. Ive been sucking as much sand out as I can when I do water changes. The skimmer has been rocking since I raised the tank level up about a inch and a half...

It has come to my attention that my nitrates are dangerously high. I am going to do a water change of course but I want to do something long term. I have very limited money right now and I know I will be eventually buying the following: 1.) new protein skimmer to replace my seaclone 150 *P.O.S.*...

In my frag tank, I have crushed coral. I havent been keeping up on this tank so hair algae is every where and now Im tearing down the tank to make a refuge instead. Can I use the crushed coral in my display tank or will the hair algae get everywhere?

So algae and sand are the only things that make a good refugium? Seems like Im missing out on something... Thats too easy. What else can I do to fancy things up?

does it look like spider webs are shooting out of your rocks or sludge is coming out?

I have a mad scientist of a friend who expiremented with adding things to fish water. He said no matter how much sugar he added, it didnt effect anything.... but they werent saltwater reef inhabitants, just feeder comets.

but to get back on track... If I removed the second baffle, It wouldnt do anything. It would overflow into the 1st baffle. I think as long as at least keep the return high up in the tank, it will just suck a little bit and then suck air and lose the syphon.
