    Acropora12's 20 Gal. Nano Build.

I agree with the Koralias...I have a 2 and a 1 on my 20g and I find it to be just about right. Good luck with the setup stage...it's the most important! And so far everything looks good!

BIGGEST mistake you've made in the hobby

And my own biggest mistake made in the hobby would be between: 1. Starting off with a small tank... AND 2. Letting my neighbor take care of my tank while I was away for 2 wks.

    24" corallife light fixtures

I would maybe opt for the Current USA Nova Extreme T5 24' fixture for the 20g. It comes with 2x24W 10K daylights and 2x24 460nm actinics. Of course this all depends on what you are considering having in your tanks. As a general rule, I would consider CF as a last resort...with T5s and halides...

    First Fragging Attempt

razor blade, superglue and frag plugs/rubble rock that you want to attach them to. When I frag my zoos I like to keep the rubble in a small container with DT water and I just pat them dry with paper towel before attaching the polyps to them. Let them dry for a lil bit then put them back in the...

New to saltwater - help needed!

Welcome to the boards and to saltwater! My 20g H nano reef has been setup for the past 6-7 months...the AquaC Remora has worked out great for me so far. Sounds to me like you have a great plan to start with, and your patience will pay off. For PHs I would suggest the Hydor Koralias...they are...

Do clowns like company of their own kind?

Aaaaand there it is! Another one bites on the line andddd she's hooked! Welcome to the club! LOL Not the worse addiction I can think of...

    Dipping a acan???

Go ahead and dip using seachem reef dip...totally safe with most corals, including acans.

    No fish for me :(

You can always go with a sixline wrasse. They are colorful (although can be aggressive - so add last). I like gobies personally...pair them with a pistol shrimp and you can get an interesting relationship to observe in your tank. +1 on cardinals

Salt Level too high....I need advice

Slowly...Just replace some of your tank water with fresh R/O water over the period of a couple of weeks and you should be fine. BTW...it's not entirely bad to have your tank at 1.029 depending on what you are keeping.

    help needed with tank setup..

For fish only...you should get some live rock (about 1 lb per gal) and live sand (about the same...1lb per gal). Will you be running a sump? or everything hanging on the back? Either way make sure you have enough water flow by using your sump return and/or power heads...I would also get a...

    Burgandy-purplish algae...

I would say cut down on your lighting to about 5-6 hours for now...normally 8 hrs or so is plenty. As far as your water change...your LFS advice is a little misguided. The benefitial bacteria that colonizes your tank will grow and thrive in the surfaces found within your tank i.e. your live...

Tell me if this sounds good...

Wow... Well, I would say the first item to be addressed would be the stand. Just get a new one. Why risk the stability of your tank and all its inhabitants? You can develop cracks in the glass from uneven stress/weight distribution, etc...not worth the risk. As far as the sand...I wouldn't...

    New Set up research

I personally like glass tanks...they are easier to clean, don't scratch as easily as acrylic...and from what I understand they keep cooler too. Of course, being in AZ that's obviously a factor. +1 on Fishygurl's suggestions...Live rock, T5s, heater, skimmer, drilled tank w/a sump (if...
