    135 gal stage Two

Your fish list is partially incompatible with your reef. Both the Koran angel and puffer are not reef safe. The Koran will eventually grow to over 12". A juvenile Koran will be fine in that size tank for awhile, but forget adding any corals - he'll most likely nip at them. I have a Koran...

    New Tang getting picked on

This can be quite common actually. How long did you have your flame angel? Chances are that if he's been there for a long time, he's established his territory. Try rearranging your rockwork and aquascaping so that all the fish will have to adjust to new boundaries. If that doesn't work, take...

Necessary Equipment for a 180Gal Reef

UV for a reef isn't bad at all. The only time I could see it interfering is maybe during phytoplankton feedings. Other than that, it'll keep your tank free of most diseases. It does not, in my experience, affect pods or coraline at all.

need to know flow rate from drain line.

Although not ideal, you can. A gate valve works the best, and many have used ball valves with similar results but more fine-tuning required. Make sure you restrict the flow on the output side of the pump, never the intake side. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have heard it's better to restrict...

    best/reliable eternal pump .?

Sequence was the way to go on a closed loop. I can't think of a better pump. They are definitely the quietest, most efficient with electricity, and have some of the highest build quality I've seen.

    Seaweed Selects

You should remove any left over seaweed selects after 24 hours. In my tank, a 3" x 3" square is gone in less than five minutes.

    Mandarin

They'll be fine for a few weeks unless they get into a fatal fight. Unfortunately, it's one of the more difficult fish to keep, but also very common and easily "harvested". I think they might have even been successfully bred....someone correct me if I'm wrong. :notsure:

    Magfloat question?

They are well worth the money. Get the size appropriate to your thickness of glass/acrylic. Like people have mentioned, stay away from the knockoffs and be careful not to get sand in the pad, especially with acrylic.

    getting frustrated

With your size tank, you should have AT LEAST 30 snails, if not 50. Some even say one per gallon. Get some varied ones, like turbos, nassarius, and maybe some ceriths.

    Red General Star

I have one in a FOWLR tank - they are not reef-safe at all - you are playing with fire. I haven't lost my cleaner shrimp to it, but it will eat hermits (sometimes), snails (especially), soft corals, clams, etc. It is pretty cool, yet destructive. A good FOWLR species, but I would keep a very...

    Acrylic tanks verses Glass tanks?????

IMO, the black back will look more natural than the blue back. I don't really like the look of the blue backs - looks a bit cheesy. The black backing is a lot classier, but that's just my opinion. Regardless, the black will not make it look unnatural.
