    Green Slime algae

could use more specific info about test results. What are the values of the nitrate, phosphate, ammonia, pH I would think chances are high that there is or was a nitrate/phosphate and water flow issue, but hard to say when everything is in 'normal range'. Can you get more info or help your...

Bubbble algae, omg do i gotta touch it

looks like you have a couple of bubbles on that rock. Can you take the whole piece out? Scrape it down with a brush, keep it in a tub of water in the dark for a few weeks, or you could treat it in fresh water for a few days, or hypersalinity (very high salt levels) better to remove it and handle...

    Brackish Mollies for GHA?

IMO, bad news. I would avoid them if you can. Saw an article about it: http://saltwateraquariumblog.com/5-s...r-should-avoid I have a feeling, once you do it, you'll regret you added them. Bioload and stocking levels are such a delicate issue, why 'waste' it on such an unnatural addition...

    New Tank Setup Questions

I might be over-cautious here, but be careful with the sand bed depth. Rule of thumb is more than 4 inches (for a deep sand bed) or very shallow....probably less than an inch Reason is that dead-spots form in the bed, anaerobic bacteria get in there and it 'could' cause problems down the road...

    royal gramma nest site dilema

adding the PVC down in the males nest area may just spook him to another spot. you won't know until you try. In my experience the larval snaggers are hit or miss--especially in a community tank (lots of hungry mouths). Definitely non invasive, just be prepared for variable and potentially low...

    having phyto /rotifer problem

clarifying question: the phyto is growing well/getting dark green prior to being used as food for the rotifers, but once it is added to the rotifer culture, it crashes and gets milky white? Can you get a new bottle. Next time you're harvesting the rotifers from the rotifeast culture, take what...

    plankton for feeding corals

Clarification: you're talking about Sphaerella spp and not Spirobranchus giganteus (fan worms in a porites coral) I looked up some of the feeding requirements for this coral--I admit that I've never kept this kind of coral. But the key to successful feeding for inverts, for me, appears to be...
