    Bad move?

Surprise surprise! Pink spotted and the flame are not in my tank anymore as of this morning. Just ridiculous and the funny thing is I left the shells in even after we (wife and I) discussed how funky they looked in the tank.

    Bad move?

I removed them first thing this morning. I thought I gave them a good inspection before putting them in, but they probably should have been bleached or cured before even considering putting them in. Lesson learned. Pretty crappy, the blue tang was doing so well and the sleeper was non stop...

    Bad move?

Water parameters were and are: Salinity- 1.024 Ammonia- 0 and has been for two months Nitrite- 0 Nitrate- 10-15 and consistantly stays in that range PH- 8.4 and sometimes 8.0 when I do water changes with LFS RO salted I don't have a test for alk or cal. You may have misunderstood some of my...

    Bad move?

So apparently I’m an idiot. I bought three conch shells from Hobby Lobby on May 23, 2008. Dropped them in where I thought they looked good. Reason I got them is so I could have a few more gobies or blennies and I was assuming these hiding places would make life a bit easier. I currently have...

The invisible killer in the tank

I'm sure plenty of people on here have lost fish for reasons they cannot pin point exactly. Just think about what they went through to make it all the way to your tanks. S__t is bound to happen.

Is this lighting okay for clams?

My bad on the link. My tank is the typical 48 x 30 x 18 (deep) I believe.

Is this lighting okay for clams?

Aqualight Advanced Series HQI Metal Halide Fixture I'm curious if this will be enough to keep clams and softies on one side of my tank? Call it a trial run, and if I decide going beyond fish is for me, I'll upgrade the lighting from this to a 2x250 MH T5 combo. Just wanted to know what you all...

    First anemone suggestions.

Had a 75 for about 6 weeks now with 4x54 PC providing the lighting. Those two things alone may be enough for some to say NO, but give me some opinions. I have two percs that need a host.

    Cycling question

I thought it was possible to cycle a tank without spiking the ammonia. My 75 has been up for five weeks and I really didn't see a "spike" in ammonia. I did do water changes, but relied mostly on utilizing my canister and making sure I controlled the levels. I cycled with damsels, I know! They...

    T5 HO Fixture

Just a heads up. I've been searching for the same set up as opposed to going with the PC's that have more watts. I believe these are better because of the lumens they put out. On to my point. $135 is a solid price, BUT I think you can find these shipped to your doorstep for close to $100 total.

    Magnum 350 Pro Canister Question

Cool, thanks. I'm planning on 100 lbs+ within the next couple months.

    New Pics of my 75

Damn, it's arriving on Tuesday in the mail. Oh well, will have to do for now. Maybe this version will be improved. Probably not, but my tank will be nowhere close to yours for quite awhile. Good thing I haven't ordered the PC yet because my daughter would flip if we couldn't manage the nem...

    Magnum 350 Pro Canister Question

Is this filter sufficient to run a new 75? I've got one coming in on Tuesday that was very inexpensive. I just wanted to find out if others have used this with success on a 75. Also, I've got some PC's coming next week and then the LR and LS. Lights are 48" 260 Watt typical PC's you see all...

    Lighting 101

What do you guys think about the standard 48" PC 260 Watt that comes with 2 10K and 2 actinic as well as the 8 led moon lights. I was under the impression this would do the trick for anemone in a 75 gallon. Let me know otherwise. This is something I've seen for around $125 shipped from that...

    New Pics of my 75

Awesome tank! Any chance you can give me your set up. I just got a new 75 and am looking for some equipment ideas. It looks like you have it locked down, so your opinions are greatly appreciated. Here is the most cost effective list I've come up with to start getting my tank established...
