    DSB! DSB! DSB!

Hey MoMo another vote here on getting that sand out. Even though it seems like another delay and a waste of time it is very important and actually great that you have the chance to change it before you add water and livestock. The sand that is safe for aquariums has very specific needs such as...

    Are puffers difficult to keep?

Misty, I think both opinions you heard were somewhat right. Puffers are pretty hardy and easy to care for. They are also very prone to ich but the good thing is, they are very good at fighting it off. Once you have your aquarium established and all fish in good health, I think they are pretty...

    Eels

Hey reefman just to let you know for research purposes, snowflake eels are a type of moray. I have a snowflake that is a really cool fish and also very good with his other tankmates. I think as long as they are fed, they will not harm there tankmates(besides most inverts obviously). Mine goes...

    favorite fish?

My favorite fish that I own is definetly my porcupine puffer. He is the cutest fish and has the most personality I have ever seen. My other favorite fish would have to be the blonde naso tang. I don't have a tank large enough to facilitate one but I think they are beautiful.

    Foam on surface

Hey, I didn't clean the tank w/ anything but water. I think it may just be from stirring the salt b/c I skimmed it off the top and it's not reforming. It wasn't like soap suds though...It was a lot thicker than soap foam. Thanks for your help...I will be very paranoid until I have some...

    Foam on surface

Hey, I need to know if this is normal....I know you need all of my info to help, so here it is: 3 days ago I got a used 44 gallon pentagon tank. I first put in 60 lbs of sugarsized aragomite sand. I then filled it with regular tap water and added a dechlorinator(I have tested the water b4 and...

    feeding tips for snowflake eel?

How are you feeding him the food? I use a pair of aquarium tongs to stick the food down by my snowflakes mouth. It seems like he eats much quicker. It also helps to keep him from roaming the tank to search for food, which lessens the chance of him accidentally biting a tankmate since they...

    PLEASE READ could be DANGER

Were the rubber bands new? How long has your tank been running? I know that rubber bands don't actually give off any toxins as I asked about them before b/c I had dropped a couple in my tank and couldn't find them. I got some pretty good answers as to the chemicals in rubber bands and was told...

    porcupine puffer

Won't these tangs pose a problem with each other by themselves when they get older? Also I think tangs need great water conditions which are really hard to achieve with heavy eaters like pork puffs. I'm no expert, these are just thoughts!

    Clean up crew

Which clean-up crew from SWF would you guys select for a 44 gal pentagon reef tank? I will be starting mine soon and I haven't decided which crew to get.

    New setup....opinions needed

Thanks for the responses! Will I need to keep my tank dedicated to mainly 1 type of coral? i.e. sps, lps, or soft corals I know that most corals can't be added in a new tank, so how long after the cycle will I need to wait before my tank is mature enough to handle corals? Also some nice fish...

    New setup....opinions needed

Hi, I will soon be getting my 44gallon pentagon tank. I will have 175watt 10k metal halide with 2 NO actinic lighting. I am going to start with a 4" deep sand bed and 50lbs of Fiji LR. I am going to build a sump for this setup and a red sea berlin skimmer. Is there anything I'm missing in this...

    update on garlic and ick

What is the method everyone prefers to feed garlic? I once got the garlic flakes at a health store nearby to feed to my flake eating fish and it seemed to work great. Now most of my fish are meat eating and I haven't found the right stuff yet. The only thing I can find at the stores is minced...
