So this thing leaks like a seive... When i was filling it, i noticed spots in the corners where the seal was scraped away... my question is, should i try to re-seal it, or since i don't have any money invested yet, use the money i would spend on a stand and other equipment to just start fresh...

I'd say i get about half from the supermarket, and half from the LFS. I find it to be a lot less expensive as well as get a better variety by buying seafood intended for people from the fresh seafood counter.

tankstolove... I have to question some of your choices regarding what can be kept with a dogface puffer... First of all i agree with you that keeping 2 puffers together will usually mean disaster for one or both of them. I'd say the firefish which you mentioned as having nearly 100% success...

I really like the tesselata, While some people will say you can keep a tessy in a 200, I would say 300 would still be on the small side. Someday when i have the $$$$ and space, I will have a tesselata for sure. Tessys don't like a whole lot of light so there are no worries about spending...
