thanks... i just bought the bta from a lfs about a week ago. it has been moving around quite a bit. not worried about the bubble coral touching anything. its tentacles can get super long but everything seems to be doing fine.

2.when i first started out i should have used more base rock in my tank than live...
research on nudibranches, seashares, sea cucumbers. one of the listed eats green hair algae and only green hair algae. once it is all gone... get rid of the thing or else it will die from no food source. thats your best bet. nothing else will eat the green hair algae despite what cuc you have.
as far as the sand bed goes you shouldnt have any problem with a cycle or introducing a cycle to the tank. the new live rock you purchased may throw a nitrate nitrite spike in the tank. the live rock needs to be cured. and all die off from the live rock needs to happen. if you throw fresh live...
i have a 20 gallon long on my 90 gallon. some say its small but works fine for me. so go based off that. maybe a 55gallon since they are long would be good for your tank.
