    t5 or MH?? Help!

Thank you everyone! I am leaning towards the Nova Pro t5, and maybe using better bulbs. But it's hard to say no to 50% off anything in this hobby!! If only the t5 fixture was on sale... but maybe it will be. Really appreciate everyone's opinions!

    t5 or MH?? Help!

I'm having a huge debate with myself. I finally decided I was going to upgrade my lighting soon (within the next few months). I have a 75 g (48") with just softies right now. I'd like to do some LPS and I want my Ricordeas to really thrive. I have PC lights now, so I know I definitely need to...

What's your secret with Ricordea? Yours look amazing! Do you target feed them anything specific? I can only hope that mine will look like that one day! Congratulations!

    help with building durso standpipe

Thank you! I think I will just order one (instead of trying to build it.. it would end up costing me more than $20 to build it because of all the replacement parts for the ones I ruined the first time around). Plus, seems like a very reasonable price for my sanity and sleep!

    help with building durso standpipe

So I just moved into a great apartment and I love it. But my 75g tank is now in my room, and the overflow/rushing water noise that I could live with in my living room is getting old. I've done some research and it sounds like a durso standpipe would fix my problems (cut down on noise falling...

    Tank pictures after the move

Thanks! I really like him- he's almost always out in the open, keeps the hair algae in check, but LOVES frozen brine and mysis shrimp.. even eats floating pellets! I think he tries to be cleaned by my cleaner shrimp, but so far the cleaner has only wanted to clean my Royal Gramma, who's having...

    Tank pictures after the move

Moved my 75g this weekend (tank move on Sat, fish were in Sunday night). Also switched from mostly CC to mostly very fine sand. Still have a ton of moving expenses, so adding a little more rock and some more corals for color might take a little while, but I wanted to share a few pictures...

    My 75 build

Tank's looking great! And I definitely vote for the Flame- I also have a 75 Oceanic and just got a Flame Angel a few weeks ago and is doing great- eating flake and frozen food and staying away from my corals. Where do you shop normally? I was in Rockville, but I'm moving to NoVA this weekend and...

What wont they do to make money.

Disney's "Earth" and Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" were done by the same people- it's a partnership between Disney and the BBC. No one is stealing anything- Planet Earth did extremely well on TV, but it wasn't released in theaters. You could look at "Earth" as a sequel of "Planet Earth"-...

    What's the benifit of Chaeto?

Tumbling means you need enough water flow falling onto the chaeto that it moves around. You don't want the chaeto to stay still. As for connecting a refugium to the wet/dry, it depends on what your setup looks like. You could either drill a hole in the wet/dry and connect it to a small refugium...

    What's the benifit of Chaeto?

Growing chaeto should help with your nitrates. You can buy refugiums that hang on the back of a tank, or you could build a refugium and connect it to your wet/dry. If you have bioballs in the wet/dry, you might want to rinse some of them every few months (rinse them using old water from a water...
