150W MH on 12gal. Too much?

I have the coralife fixture. It works great and is high quality. But, I think I would have preferred the look of the Sunpod fixture.

150W MH on 12gal. Too much?

I have a 150W on my 12 gallon. I also have a 4 inch fan pulling air away from the surface connected to a temperature controller. When I tired to keep the temp at 78-79, I had a lot of evap (1/4 - 1/2 gallon a day). I live in AZ and keep my AC at 81 in the house. I've since adjusted my fan to...

    Eclipse System Light Mods

For me, I just didn't want to go through cycling a new tank all over again. So I went with the upgrade. There was also a male pride issue in that I didn't want to admit to myself that I just bought the wrong tank. It them became a challenge to "make it work".

HELP!! looking for new filter for 10g

Any ideas why your snails died? I have 2 large Mexican Turbos in my 12 gallon and they keep the glass pretty much spotless. The only compaint I have is that they sometimes bulldoze some small coral frags I have.

    Eclipse System Light Mods

With mine, I ended up getting rid of the hood all together and going with a Coralife Clip on MH fixture and an Aqua Clear HOB filter (AQ70). I then cut a piece of acrylic to act as a top to keep my fish from jumping out. I should be able to post some pics this weekend.

    still havin heat issues

I had the same problem with my 12 gallon Eclipse with 150W MH light. I bought a 4 inch fan and it made a huge difference. It was actually able to cool better than my heater and light could heat it up. One little fan was able to bring the temp from 86 to 76. I ended up buying a temp...

They are not eating the corals, but one of them actually knocked a yellow polyp off its rock.

    Turbo Snail climbing over corals

I have 2 turbo snails that make a habit out of crawling over my corals. They are especially fond of my yellow polyps. Will this hurt the corals?

    acclimating fighting clean up crew....

I have 5 blue-legs in my 12 gallon and I put about 10 shells in there. They all switched shells within 24 hours of me putting the new ones in. I got them in a bag at my local craft store and boiled them. PS, you would be surprised at what size of shells they go for. I don't know how some of...
