No, it is not hair algea. It is rather stiff and has the feel of a scrub brush.

I have several patches of dense green growth. It feels like a brush and is approx. 1/8" long. I attempted to pull some off and it is really tough. I wouldn't mind some of it but, it is starting to cover too much. My LM Blenny loves to lay in it, I think he feels like he's sitting in a Lay-Z-Boy.

I have two Hydor 2 pumps and they work great. My question is that one has a ceramic shaft and the other has a metal shaft. Is there any practical difference in performance?

Unfortunately, the Shrimp Goby is already in the tank. This is one that my son wanted to get because he was there was no Dragon Goby there and we really need someone in there to keep the sand stirred.

I already have a sump under on 72 bow and it is full. I want to a fuge next to it and I'll make it out of plexiglass. My main question is what is the best ay to get the water to the fuge fron the sump? I would rather not drill the sump. Will it work if I use siphon pipes? Thanks

It was from an aquarium shop so it should be for aquariums. There was live sand in the tank. My main concern is if this will allow bacteria to grow or if this would be make the bottom sterile.

Thanks, but this does not appear to be the same material. What I have is more like a coating that is 1/8" thick and feels like a growth of short, fluffy hair.
