Thank you..... I replaced my sand and live rock in the sump with a new pm RL 225 skimmer. So I had to block off a corner with egg crate to hold the cheato. The only reason I wanted to keep that was for the pods. If anything it will work better because the sand was kinda nasty at the surface...

I have my lights turned down to only run 6 hours a day. Do you think my corals will suffer? Thanks

What is the purpose of putting sand and live rock in a refugium? Wanting to know if I can remove the sand and live rock out of mine to make room for a bigger skimmer. I dont really see the benifit of the sand and live rock? Want to take it out and just have a bare bottom refuge with cheato. Thanks

I would think everyone would use some kind of filter whether a filter sock or a foam filter??

I never thought about washing them like that. haha

Are you guys using filter socks on your tanks? I am having a problem with hair algea and wondering if the filter socks could be making it worse. I do clean them 1 to 2 times a week just by spraying them out with the water hose. Any help is appreciated.

I know API isnt the best but it seems to work. And I have started my two part dosing. I just cant understand why I have hair algea?

Well last night when I got off work I headed to the lfs I deal with and bought the vortech mp40. He made me a good deal and he also threw in a C-Scope refractometer for free. That was awesome!!! I also found out my salinity is low last night. 1.022
