Females don't have the blue jaw and have black margins on their fins rather than yellow - they are rather drab in comparison to the males.
The do not eat small fish, crabs, shrimps, etc..
isn't your tank a 240?
Your lighting is fine - what kind of MH bulbs? - I just switched my ALS bulbs to Ushio's and it is a world of difference - buck up for the 3002 model of the Korallin - I have the 1502 and I need to add another reactor chamber - just not big enough to handle a 240 gallon...
That sounds like a very nice mix of fish - keep in mind that the vlamengii (blue spot tang) wil get 2 feet in length and are very long stiff fish -- my tank is 8 feet long and it outgrew my tank.
Some acclimate well, some don't - They do better in reef tanks yet they will nip at clams and corals - make sure you have lots of live rock for him to peck on if you get one.
IMO they suck. They come from a region of cooler water than we normally have in our tanks - I don't keep them anymore. Dr. Ron Schimeck also advises to not keep them. There alot of other tank cleaners that are much more effective.
How do I do this when you can't clamp it to the side? The top goes about 4 inches before the opening. Is there a powerhead that comes with a big adjustable clamp? I don't want to secure with suction cups as they just don't last....
