yes you can i run my 20 long with only a top fin 30 H.O.B and its been up for a while and has fish and stuff in it already been doing fine so yeah you can use a regular hang on

OK you guys been gone about 2 weeks on vacation but im back now, the tank when i got back was doing fine... even though i am missing one fish and i think a snail has died, yet everything else seems fine, the fish i havent seen at all is the blue green chromis, i have no idea what happened to it...
