    Furry Crab photo wanted

Found a picture of a crab that looks almost identical to this guy except color (other pic the crab was covered in mud). I think he is called Pilumnus vespertilio or is also called the Common hairy crab or the Teddy-bear crab. Site said he eats seaweeds and zoanthids. He now resides in my refugium.

Got a few pics of him. The first one shows his true color. Any ideas?

    Furry Crab photo wanted

Anyone have pictures of furry crabs. I want to get an id on one that I just caught in a zoanthid colony. He is about 1", is a yellowish brown color and has hair/fur over every part of his body. I don't think he is a gorilla crab because he has very tiny claws that are the same color as his body...

    Metal disc in sponge filter

I remember reading on here somewhere that someone had a sponge filter with metal in it. I noticed the very bottom of my sand bed had an orangish color to it. Took my filters apart and sure enough they do have metal in them. Never noticed it before. Just wanted to know of any negative effects if...

    Nudibranch Hitchiker!!! Is it bad?

Unfortunatly if you have already found a few adults and smaller ones, than you will probably find a lot more soon. Mine started out as finding one, one night...then a population explosion and the battle begins. I'm hoping that with nightly removal, I will eventually stop all the adults from...

    Horseshoe Crab

I also have 2 in my 55 gallon. Never a problem with each other or any other inhabitants (except the ones living in my sand bed). They don't climb on my corals or move rocks in my tank. They do swim around my tank very clumsily at night and during feedings they will swim upside down at the surface.

    Nudibranch Hitchiker!!! Is it bad?

I discovered those same little guys in pink, orange and green in my 55 gallon reef about a month ago. Not sure where they came from. Haven't bought any new coral in about 4 months and that was a sponge. They definitely take the color of the zoanthids they are eating. Fortunately I caught them in...

    seahorse and coral banded shrimp?

Hi, I just put my pair of Pipes in my 55 reef a week ago. I have a lot of mixed critters including a large CBS (3 1/2" body) and Emerald Crabs and a bunch of others that all get along pretty well. My CBS is always hunting for things to eat (comes out day and night) and is pretty aggressive...
