Do u plan on having a refugium? I ask because the mandarin dragonette needs live copepods to thrive and a refugium will provide a safe place for their natural food to propagate. U can try to get it to eat frozen food but not to many ppl have success with that. If u have to have a tang. Try Gettn...
I use a chemical called Aiptasia-x made by Red Sea. It works well for me. Peppermint shrimp also eats Aiptasia but I don't like the idea of using live animals to fix problems.
To answer ur question on salt. I like to use Oceanic Salt. It's high in calcium so I never needed to dose my reef tank. About the lights. U have Daylight. Actinic and moonlights(LED). Moons lights- I keep on 24/7. Day lights- I keep on 7 hrs. Actinics- I keep n 9 hrs. Daylight and actinics are...
Definitely achievable in a 29g bio cube, but the margin for error will be much less compared to a large reef tank. So take ur time and research. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby. Especially In a nano tank. With the research and development in this hobby growing so fast. They are making it...
Found my old tank post. No more 90g. Had two kids and busy work. corals takes so much time and effort i had decided to take it down. Sold most of the coral kept all equipment just in case I want a large reef in the future. Right now I have a 30g with the old fish in there minus the tang and fox...
Yeah ur tank isn't to deep so t5 with individual reflectors 4-6 bulbs should be good enough for wat ever coral u want to keep. Check out Nova extreme pro or sun light supply TEK Lights.
It's like the desperate housewife gossips.. Information gets passed on from one hobbyist to the next. It's just what we've read and heard from others who are in the hobby. Of course we dont want to pass on wrong info, so we just keep repeating what were told or read. I myself kept a Scopas tang...
I ran a 30g dwarf lion fish tank for about a year with no problems. All I had for filtration was 40lbs live rock and a refugium with macro algae in second chamber and a sponge in the first chamber. I had a fuzzy dwarf lion fish , fu man chu lion fish and red angler. All messy eaters and I had...
Yeah u can do a HOB filter or a HOB protein skimmer. HOB filters u can look at Aqua clear 50. They are about $30-$50. Comes with a pump and filter media. U can use the media it comes with or u can put Macro algae and attach a mini led light on top of it. Lots of brands when it comes to skimmers...
Nice tank so far, but I agree with snake. Take it slow and I would invest in a better light fixture soon. Anenome need lots of lights, stable water parameters and an establish tank of at least six months.
