    emerald crab

I bought an emerald crab a while back. He has gotten pretty big, but it seems he has also gotten pretty aggressive. I see him act aggressive but never have actually seen him attack anything. Here is my problem. Suddenly all my hermit crabs are dead. One every couple days. Now my banded...

Precola Clown tank... need some help!!!

You said two percs. I doubt, they are only half an inch a peice. Plus, that is not as big as they get, plus a 5 1/2 gallon aquarium fluctuates like crazy. I know it can be done, and you can probably add more and have success, I just wouldn't do it. I just think one perc would be better than two

Is This Possible? 125 Gallon with 3 Aqua Clear 500s? Live Sand? Live Rock?

I think it would be fine. I like aquaclears for my fresh water tanks. I would rather spend the money on one or two emperor 400s. But deffinatly load up on the live sand and rock, and get a really good skimmer

Precola Clown tank... need some help!!!

your tank already has too much in it don't add anything else. sometimes two clowns don't get along, so that may be why the other one isn't looking too well. But I think that it is over stocked. Have you cycled your tank yet?

    help with a dissaster

I have a water spout behind my aquarium that I used to use to fill up evaporated water. Well, today my brother turned it on, and my tank over flowed for a couple hours. My sg was 1.010. All the fish were looking really crappy. I freaked out and started putting salt directly in the aquarium...

    ick treatments?

Malachite green does harm inverts. Most medications do. I killed a shrimp with malachite green. It is an effective medication for ich, but in higher quantities. Mine has .75%, which is a lot higher than most, which like yours is .075%. This is called Quickcure. Works really well, but can...

does ick live in the tank no mater what?

No medicines are really safe for inverts. And if you put in just a little, it may not harm them (noticibly), but it won't do it's job, which was destroying the parasite. It sounded like he was trying to sell you a few things you really don't have to have. I agree with Terry, quarantine tanks...

    Algae Problem

I have tried phosphate removers before, and I have had a lot of luck with them. Some people don't though.

    Algae Problem

Have you checked your nitrates, that can cause it also. I had my fluval hooked up and had nitrate problems till I took it down. Your flake food, and the waste from your moray might be contributing a lot towards your phosphate problem. Wardley's flake is does contain as much phosphates as most...

Starting new tank , What fish would you add to it???

I agree start off easy. Clowns, firefish, maybe a gramma (not my favorite, but a descent starter fish). As far as inverts, start building yourself a clean up crew. Hermits are great janitors, and are fun to watch. My coral banded shrimp is another fun one.

    Anyone use Arag-Alive Sand?

I used it. I have no complaints, besides the fact that I paid $21 a bag for it.

Adding Live Sand on Top of Live Sand

I say definatly get a clean up crew. Hermits will eat that stuff right up. Nut get other Janitors also. then after that, top it off with live sand. A 4-5 inch bedding will help a lot with nitrates any way.

How can I get rid of waste in the bottom?

HErmits will eat anything put a couple in there and you're good to go. I like the scralets also.

    How many can i have???

I like the firefish better than the royal gramma. Clowns are a great starter fish. Don't start off with a sea horse. Way too much care, time, and not a good begginer fish at all. Don't forget about a clean up crew. They are important later on, plus they are just as fun to watch as the fish are
