    blue-lined grouper

Thanks for the replies, the grouper is a 4" fish in a 80 gallon tank with a yellow tang, tomato clown and a baby banded cat shark. I am planning to upgrade my tank within a year to a 200 gallon. This guy is definitely cool, very curious, you feel that they are watching your every move. The...

    Eel in 40 gallon

blue ribbon eels do not survive in aquariums for a long time. Some sources say around a few months because they just don't eat.

    Midas or Canary blenny?

I would go for the midas blenny, it has a lot of personality. canary blennies actually have canine teeth with venomous glands hidden in this little guy but usually doesn't bother other fish. That's all I know. [ June 17, 2001: Message edited by: Admin5 ]

    retrofit question

My trustworthy LFS is selling a retrofit lighting system for a 48" tank which includes new JBJ reflector, two brand new URI VHO 48" tubes(1 actinic and 1 50/50) and a used Magnetek(couple of years old, owner says it will last for a long time and he gave me a guarantee that it will last for a...

Is there a salt water tank cleaning fish?

The Kole Tang will eat algae off of your glass. If you get a small enough specimen it may work, but I don't think it will clean your bottom.

    Damperia grouper

i saw a really cool looking Damperia at my LFS. He looked like a pseudochromis, but a little bigger and it had a large sailfin. the guy at the LFS told me they're pretty aggressive. has anyone kept this fish, I can't find any more info on them.

    clearnose skate

So, Trey how big is your tank? I was also looking into the California round stingray, have you had any experience with them, I've been told they fare much better than the blue-spotted.

    Lei triggerfish

My LFS has a 5 inch Hawaiian Lei or Boomerang Triggerfish. I really want to get it but does anyone have experience with this fish. The guy at my LFS said they are more on the mellow side as far as triggers go. Any info would be appreciated.

    need advise!

I used to have a bamboo banded shark in a tank with crushed coral substrate. It really irritated his ventral surface and turned it all red. I agree with CheLives your tank is too small, some sharks don't look so big at the LFS but they grow fast and need a lot of swimming space.

Are we stuck with higher than average trates?

I have a 70 gal. aggressive FO tank and my plan is to grow caulerpa in the sump of my wet/dry which would eat up all the nitrates. The only problem is that caulerpa can grow really fast and also it would be expensive to get lighting to grow the stuff. I'm saving up my money right now.
