So i have a six month old tank and bought a skimmer on thursday. The skimmer is filling up the cup every few hours? any advice or reason why it is doing this?
thats the whole thing. they said I wont have to feed them with the temps set lower. He said it will slow their metabolism down and therefore need to feed less. There are plenty of copapods in the tank but Im not sure they will be able to catch them.
I stopped by my local lfs and talked to them about leaving for the holliday. I am leaving for two weeks. The guys at the lfs told me to put the tank temp on my saltwater down to 70degrees and that would decrease how active the fish were. ANyone, is this good advice for my extended trip? I really...
BEST ADVICE for salt water is take it slow. Its more rewarding when you do also. dont try to load up the tank fast. Let the tank grow into a sustained developement where the cycles are intact and it pretty much takes care of itself.
Ive got a turbo snail in my three month old tank. As of now I havent had any death in the tank or anything like that. Have one fish in the tank. This snail has a trail of "GOO" attached to him. Should I be worried about this?
I bought one of these guys in the mail today and did not use drip to acclimate him. A friend told me to just let him sit in the bag and pour half the water out of the bag and replace the water with tank water. I acclimated him for an hour and did one "water change" Do you think this is enough...
I have about 30 pounds of LR in my salt and a hermit crab who likes to get up on the rocks. I am afraid he will fall off in somewhere he cant get out. Should I be worried? any thing like that happen to you guys. Ive kept an eye on him but Dont want to continue to worry about him all the time.
