they are fine and that behavior is perfectly normal. they are just figuring out who will be the boss in the tank

I would just wait for the new tank. imo, there's no need to put some fish through the stress. on top of that, moving things into a new aquarium is a pain and not worth it for such a short period time. i'd use the time to plan out your plumbing, build your sump, and set up a qt tank.

how are you acclimating the fish and snails?

worst purchase i ever made for my tank was a skilter. poor performance and noisy. i threw it out after a month. imo, don't waste your money on it

i would be most concerned about having nitrites in the tank. a low level of nitrates is ok, but nitrites should be zero
