    Calling on All Saltwaterfish Customers!!!

If I just placed a marine life order and selected priority shipping, what would be my estimated delivery? I understand that SWFish will notify me but I was just curious what some of the other members who have placed marine life orders have experienced. Thanks!!!

    Gcgrad's Update

Hey everyone! It has been a while since I have been on the forum. So I thought I would give an update of my 125 gallon tank. I currently have two percula clownfish, 1 royal gramma, 1 purple firefish goby, and 1 foxface rabbitfish. I unfortunately lost a lawn mower blenny a couple weeks ago. I'm...

    Butterfly in a reef?

I understand that butterfly fish in general are not considered reef safe. With that said I have read that the Orange Butterflyfish (Sunburst) is listed as reef with caution. Is this the most reef friendly butterfly out there? Just curious!

    Lighting Schedule

I just bought the 72" Aquatic Life T5 HO w/ LED Light Fixture. I will upgrade the bulbs to the ATI soon enough. But right now I'm thinking of running the actinics from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, whites from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, LEDs from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am, all lights off from 2:00 am to 8:00 am...

    McCosker's Flasher Wrasse

I plan to add a M/F pair of McCosker's Flasher Wrasses to my 125 at some point. Should I add them both at the same time? Or will it be easier to find separate individuals and add them at different times? In other words, is it difficult to find a male and female at the same time? Thanks!

    Snails Dying

Well started off with 12 and have had 4 casualties. I purchased a piece of live rock today covered in purple coraline algae. So I put a few on that rock in hopes of there being a food source for them there. The rest I placed in the refugium. They have started eating since then. I haven't checked...

    Snails Dying

I have 12 turbo snails in my 125. They did a great job of cleaning up the tank after the cycle completed. However, it looks like they are running out of food. 4 of them have died and I'm not quite sure what I should do. The water parameters are good. Salinity 1.025, pH 8.2, NH3 0, NO2 0, NO3 5...

    Officially joined the hobby today!!!

Pics Pics Pics!!! The filter pad in the first couple pics is an eyesore right now. I'm leaving it in there for several days to try to get some bacteria build up on it. It's the filter pad for my HOB filter on my QT. Comments welcome!

    Officially joined the hobby today!!!

Thanks for the replies. I did change out the heater from my DT and put it in my QT. The heater definitely had some bacterial growth on it, not really the best method but it's better than nothing. I have already ghost fed the QT. I don't think I will use a piece of rock from the DT. I will just...

    Officially joined the hobby today!!!

Thanks Corey! Quick question though. I'm setting up my QT and was planning on adding my first fish to it this weekend. The QT is not cycled, and I was soon to do a water change on my DT. Should I use the water from my DT as the water for my QT instead of using new saltwater for the QT? I plan to...

    Officially joined the hobby today!!!

When I purchased my turbo snails the guy at the LFS said for a reef that I should have my salinity at 1.023. I swore I have read to keep it at 1.025. What do you all think about this?
