My first coral was a mushroom 2 years ago. That thing has spilt several times, and now I have about 15 of them in one area of my tank. Good water plus good light must equal many splits!

Have you ever thought that maybe the goby could be to blame. If he backed into the lobsters hole/cave and the lobster just molted, he would be very over protective of himself. Maybe the goby accidently stumbled onto trouble. I watch mine back into all kinds of holes and caves without checking...
I think tangs know when they are being recorded. Mine does the same as yours when recording him, always hiding. Camera shy, but as soon as you put the camera down, he stays out front and visits with me. Little rascals!!!

FYI. Ive never had good luck keeping dottybacks and shrimp in the same tank. If you want an easy fish to care for and one that will be able to defend itself without starting fights, the yellow watchman goby!!!!
