There are many kinds of mantis shrimp. I have kept them in everyting from a 5 gallon to a 30 gallon. And all my tanks are glass.

Limestone is fine all carbonate. I used ground up limestone for my sand. Works great.

Mantis shrimp are bad for a reef tank but many people keep them in species specific tanks. Great to watch. So if you catch it do not kill it throw it in your sump and ask around sure someone would want it. And if you want to ship i will take it.

My peacock killes anything i put in the tank. Fish included. But i still put my had in ther to clean. I just use a pice of plexy to keep him at bay. Jace
