I have a 55g FOWLR and some say I need a protein skimmer and some do not. Also what kind of skimmer do I need if I choose to get one. There are a lot of them for sale in the classifieds but I don't know what I need.

I have a brittle star and he moves all over my tank. He stays in the same place for a while then moves to a different rock some times he stays in the same rock for a week before he moves and sometimes he climbs up my glass which is so cool. I think your star is fine as long as they are eating...
