    Need to clean my overflow...

Are there any tecniques anyone can share about cleaning a CPR overflow? My 2 downpipes are pretty much permanent hardware until I dismantle the whole tank so I can't remove it. The overflow is filled with aiptasia anemones and im starting to think it may be restricting waterflow. Any tips?

To scrape or not to scrape, that is the question..

I was dosing Iodine or Iodide because someone told me its needed for growth with an aggressive skimmer and monthly water changes. I have been changing the water a bit more frequently within the past month or so. The bottle has instructions for dosing so that was what I was following but...

    Help with hair algae

Ok i'll do that more often. I changed their position in the tank to keep them away from wherever any detritus may settle. I think I will be fine in the future but now I need to get rid of these little sprouts. Hopefully an invert will find it and take care of it. I don't want to hit it with...

I want to try SPS now.

So far i'm having good success with my mini reef that I want to get into some of the nicer looking species of coral keeping. I started out with no restrictions on hardware for my 55g. I have metal halides, I have a good protein skimmer, I have a sump and regugium, I have plenty of powerheads...

    Help with hair algae

I have a nice 5X7 Zoo colony that attracts hair algae. I don't have much in my tank but for some reason the green stuff loves to grow on my Zoo rock. I've been pulling this stuff for a while now and im starting to think I probably need more flow to keep the algae and various suspended debris...

    Mandarins

I was able to sustain a Mandarin for about a year in my 55g. Eventually he died, probably from malnutrition. When I first got him my pod population was incredible, they were everywhere and millions of them. I assumed he would be ok and for a couple weeks he was doing well. After a couple...

Looking for a hardy schooling fish.

Its a 55g tank and I have 5 fish in it. I will probably stay away from the group effect and go with 1 nice colorful fish instead, or put up with some more damsels.

To scrape or not to scrape, that is the question..

The only "visible" coraline algae growth I have is on the side glass. I'm trying to clean up my tank a little bit so im pondering this idea of cleaning the glass on both sides. If I do scrape the algae off will it create more growth or hinder the success of growth on my liverock? Ideally, I...

I think I will try some banggai cardinals. What is a good amount to have?

Looking for a hardy schooling fish.

Not a blue-green chromis. I have had at least 25 of these over the span of a year and a half and they simply don't last. They do well for a couple days and then they die off in a domino effect, reliably. I'd like to keep something in a group of about 5 fish. Is there any species out there I...
