Im going to start either a 40 or 29 gallon reef tank. Will I need a sump? Give me at least 2 reasons if i should other than for a refugium, hiding equipment and for extra water volume.

Ive been looking around for corals to buy and i really want to buy a candycane coral. This website said that its care level is moderate. Some other places said it was a beginner coral. Could I keep even if i was a beginner.

I just started topping off because i had to get rid of my glass top. How do other people top off. I am afraid of killing corals because of the mixing water in the tank. If you dont have a sump where would you top off in the tank?

A protein skimmer would do the trick.

Can you feed scooter blennies any type of store bought food? If they eat live food, then how long do you have to wait for your tank to mature?

Its a little confusing but I know what your saying. You need to clean out all of that bacteria. It just doesnt work like that.

Point the powerheads close to the surface of the water for better gas exchange.
