Might only concern with shipping would be that it wouldn't make it, since xenia is not a really good shipper from what I have heard. Also, I am not really familiar with shipping any live goods, I haven't done it... I already had to toss a few branches out today because they were grabing hold...

Yes it does work. If your tank is cloudy afterwards, you are adding too much. Cut back on the amount you are dosing. I dose about a quarter tsp to half a tsp on my 120.

In order to get down your nitrates, you could add sugar into your tank. Mix it with some tank water till it dissolves and add it to your sump.
