First of all you can't believe everything you read...
Alot of things can be be done in larger tanks that shouldn't dare even be tried in smaller tanks. You can do a school of yellow tangs. I had a yellow, scopas and purple together and never had any problems other than some minor tail slapping...
Yeah 7-9 lyretails in a 135 is a bad idea. I seriously doubt all of them would make it long. I'd add them all at once, but I would just do a few at the most. I added all 5 of mine in my 180 at one time, but they are really small.
I have a strawberry and a skunk pseudo. Both of them stay in the rocks most of the time. I've seen some of the other pseudos but the more common ones are the best looking ones to me.
How does his belly look? Just because you are not seeing him eat doesn't mean he isn't. He maybe eating alot of pods in your tank. I'm sure he will become accustomed to your tank over time too. Most sixlines are pretty bold.
I have a CB, peppermint shrimp, you name it and none of them have ever messed with the aptasia.
I got a straight syringe with a needle and a curved syringe (I work in a hospital) and I have yet to find any aptasia or majanos I couldn't and didn't eradicate.
You're going to find alot of different answers on peoples individual routines. I use 1 canister and I service it every week, at least every 2 weeks at a minimum and run carbon usually every other time. As long as you don't go too long between servicing/cleaning it you will be fine.

This is very true but if you are only going with a 55...

I know you calibrated yours, but maybe it's a little off.
X2 on this. I'd do it just to see.
I thought they were all LED's but I can't even find an LED on the light bar...? I know they came with them and it has a cord for them, but I can't find them.
